The Castlebar River

June 8, 2019

On the left - a photograph of the Castlebar River I took back in July 1995 and - on the right the same spot photographed by Bryan Kennedy in 2018. The algae has disappeared - thanks to phosphorus removal at the Castlebar WWTP.

I posted this on Twitter and it has since had over 70,000 impressions with 5000 'total engagements' and almost 1000 'likes'. It also resulted in a radio interview on RTE's Seascapes with Brian Lally.
